Course Overview: This one-day course provides learners with an overview of how the intelligence budget is developed, approved, and executed. It begins by discussing the documents that determine budget priorities and identifies the officials and offices with important budgetary responsibilities. Next, the course compares the major intelligence budgets as well as the processes used to build them. The course then describes the role of the White House and the legislative branch in completing the intelligence budget. The course concludes with a discussion of how intelligence dollars are managed once the budget is finalized.
